I like to play boggle. The games are quick, and occasionally I can get an SAT word in there. First contestant is the Mijia medium point signing pen. The Mijia is an inexpensive, well made pen from China. It’s got some nice features, such as having a Swiss technology refill -and the Mijia emblem looks like a cat.

The Mijia signing pen a white metal 0.5 rollerball with black ink. The Mijia’s weight is just evenly heavy – no front or back weight. The pen twists open and closed. The pen opens securely and it has a nice locking feel. Retracting it feels less secure-it’s fairly easy to start unscrewing the barrel pieces.
Now to Boggle. The ideal pen will never skip and will always write the moment the pen touches the paper. The Mijia signing pen wrote like this:

The Mijia generally writes when it hits the page, and when it writes, its really nice. The heaviness of the pen adds to the experience. But the Mijia Signing pen let me down more than once:

I lost that round. Note the skips in my weak three letter words- I needed that Swiss technology. When the pen skips, it feels gritty, like the refill has an impurity or something. Of course all pens skip, but it is hard to get the Mijia going again.

When the Mijia signing pen writes, it’s great. The weight is great, the ink is nice, and I feel kind of creative when I write with it. The skipping is a problem for Boggle, and might be a problem if you needed to sign something.
