I call em as I sees em, and the Parker 51 is the Cadillac of mechanical pencils:

The word is luxury – American Style. The pencil is well made, got some nice detail, has a 1.1 lead (at least) so you know it’s smooth:

The Parker 51 is also bygone, kind of like Cadillac. These expensive twist pencils aren’t in mass culture anymore. Parker products were made in Janesville, Wisconsin – closed the plant in 2000:
