I received a couple Pilot Metropolitan fountain pens and a Muji fountain pen in the mail the other day. Fun! I’m assessing fountain pens at the moment, and the Pilot Metropolitan is a popular one.

The Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen is metal, heavy and black with nice rounded edges. My pen was used and had ink in it already, so I opened it up and it wrote great immediately – feels nice in the hand. The next step for the Pilot Metropolitan was to see how it handled a few rounds of boggle.
Boggle challenges the pen in the following ways: it’s a timed game, based on the quantity of words you write, so it’s got work right away and not skip once the game is going — Could be a tough trial for a fountain pen. At any rate, The Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen excelled at the boggle challenge. It performed almost flawlessly except for one, tiny dry start:

I felt a lot of confidence writing with the Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen-no anxiety or frustration from it at all. The Pilot Metropolitan pen is inexpensive and good- quite good – I would bet almost every fountain pen enthusiast has one!
